Distance Reiki- is it right for you?
Maybe, maybe not.
There is something to be said about an in person Reiki session. The hands-on touch part that feels warm and healing in and of itself. The soothing sounds of the music playing, the sacred space you didn’t have to curate, the soft ambiance of the candles lit, the scent of lavender and sage in the air, the uninterrupted time we have where the focus is on you and you are receiving all kinds of support and guidance from the Reiki and from me.
But then the vacation is over and you go back to where you call home. Maybe you don’t find a Reiki practitioner there you connect with. Maybe you keep meaning to get another session but don’t quite make the time for it. Maybe you prefer someone you already know and trust and have had a good experience with.
You’ve already opened your mind to Reiki in the first place, how could a distance session be too far off with what’s possible with energy healing?!
I’m not here to convince anybody, but then again, maybe I am. Maybe you wouldn’t even think of distance Reiki as an option if it wasn’t presented to you as something that can be just as powerful as an in person session. It blows my mind regularly how connected we all are, with or without perceived “distance.”
Even as somebody who does this professionally, I still get doubts about distance Reiki- because I can't really wrap my brain around it. My thinking mind short circuits haha. THEN I have a crazy awesome experience that washes that doubt right down the drain...
A few months ago before I left Sedona for Asheville I had a regular distance client reach out. Mid session when I had my hands at her heart (I use a "surrogate" item, often my daughters large Elsa doll to place my hands on as a representation of the client to send the energy to) and I instantly felt a tummy ache. I jotted it down in my little notebook beside me that there was something going on in this woman's heart that was causing her stomach pain/ gut issues. Often these feelings just last long enough to become "information" to me and they are fleeting. I'm not "taking on" other people's stuff per say. As I finish writing the note, I see the client has just texted me during our session. Curious, I open it. She writes "Hey is there any chance you would be picking up on some stomach stuff I have that I think is related to a sadness in my heart?" I immediately screen shot her my notes and tell her that I literally just wrote down that exact thing!! I was completely shocked that she was all the way in California and we just had the same experience come up at the same time!!!! This is so exciting to me!! Not at all the first time these types of things have happened but it never ever gets old. Distance reiki magic strikes again!
Curious about the process? It’s very simple. The same way you booked on my website for an in person session, you can click to instant book a distance session. I give you a call (or Facetime if you prefer) at the start to discuss what’s going on with you lately and what your intentions are. We hang up. You are ideally alone in a quiet space uninterrupted. (though I have had clients that are so busy they don’t even have time for this and they just want Reiki sent to them. That is absolutely an option. It is not required that you are laying down and meditating. You could be doing anything you want.) You can use whatever you have that helps you relax. A favorite playlist, light some candles, put out some crystals, maybe light some sage or Palo Santo if you have it. Get a notebook out if you want to jot things down during the session. At the end, I give you a call so we can discuss what came up on your end and mine, similarly to how we did at an in person session. All this and you didn’t even have to leave your house! And you just got to experience the miracle of distance Reiki.
Fun fact: I actually have more repeat clients through distance sessions than I do in person sessions! This one has surprised me over the years. The ones that have experienced it keep coming back.
This year I decided to lower my Reiki distance prices from $111/hr to just $88/hr.
Since I usually do these sessions from home, there is no office expense. I don’t have to find a sitter for my daughter. There is no travel involved. I want to pass those savings onto you too. That’s a big reason why I chose to lower the price this year. But also because I feel passionate about helping others do maintenance self-care and wanted to offer an option that felt doable and more affordable to people. It’s also a chance for me to continue building relationships. I love catching up with my distance clients. I love hearing their progress as well as navigating alongside them as life presents new struggles.
